Everyone Has An Opinion on NYC’s Soda Ban
By now, you’ve probably heard about Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s latest proposal to ban the sale of large sodas and other sugary beverages in his crusade against obesity in New York City. But in case you haven’t, a quick recap: the city plans on prohibiting the sale of sugary drinks served in containers larger than 16 ounces in restaurants, concession stands, and movie theaters. (But there will be Big Gulps in the Big Apple since convenience stores won’t be affected.)
As per usual, Bloomberg ruffled a few feathers and people took to the Twitterverse and other social media outlets to give their two cents on the proposed amendment. We rounded up a choice few.
