Review: Seal-Line Waterproof E-Case
As a sailor I always have an eye out for water-friendly products. So when the Seal Line E-Case size 8 waterproof case showed up in the Fitbie office, I (bluntly) asked the editors if I could try it out.
I'm an avid outdoor iPhone app user and just last week was caught in the rain tracking my course. I had to sneak peeks at the phone between pulling it in and out of my pocket to shield it from the elements. This week I tried out the waterproof e-case and I liked the peace of mind of being able to leave it out and not care about the weather.
Pros: I loved the color (I have bright green), which made it easy to find in my bag. The case felt durable, but the phone remained touch-sensitive. The zip-lock type seal was easy to open and close, and the clip handles on either end are nice touches that will get good use.
Cons: You cannot slip the phone into the e-case without removing your add-on bumper from the phone. If that is important to you, I'd suggest going with the next size up in the product line.
Helpful Hints: If Sea Line is reading this, here's an idea to consider: a reflective version that floats. I've seen too many valuables go over the side of a boat that would have been retrieved had they not gone to Davy Jones' Locker so fast.
Best For: Sailing, hiking, kayaking
