A Peek Behind the Door at LUNA Bar
Last week, I took a 36-hour whirlwind tour of the CLIF and LUNA Bar offices out in sunny California. All I can say is: You want to work there. The offices are gorgeous, the employees are dedicated, and the perks are pretty fine (think: $6,500 taxable cash incentive for buying a high mileage hybrid car, $500 towards a commuter bike, on-site childcare, rock climbing wall, 20+ fitness classes...you get the idea). Their bars are pretty tasty, too.
After missing my 6am flight out to San Francisco, the amazing LUNA team got me on a 7:30am plane and we were off! Once touching down on the West Coast, I got to tour the offices, sample three possible new LUNA flavors, explore the Clif Family Farm in Napa, learn about LUNA's on-going partnership with the Breast Cancer Foundation, and screen some short film submissions for their annual fundraiser, LUNAFEST. And that was only Day 1.
The next day, we took a yoga class in their fitness studios, learned about the nutrition behind LUNA Bars, and spent time with members of the Team LUNA Chix—LUNA's fundraising/training teams that hold running and biking clinics for the likes of you and me. (Find a team near you!)
I was totally impressed by how dedicated LUNA is to sustainable practices, health and wellness, and women. Wonder if they're taking applications...
