Beef: It’s not what’s for dinner. At least not during the month of July at Slater’s 50/50, a small Southern California restaurant chain. In honor of our nation’s birthday, the burger-obsessed eatery released The ’Merica burger: A 100 percent ground bacon patty topped with slices of thick cut bacon, a sunny side up egg, bacon cheddar cheese, and, for a little extra flavor, their new “bacon island” dressing. The patriotic patty is the newest addition to 50/50’s impressive history of outlandish burger concoctions, including but not limited to the Carbonara Burger, the Thanksgiving Burger, and the Peanut Butter & Jellousy Burger. And don’t worry, if your heart’s still ticking after tackling this sandwich, you can wrap up your meal with 50/50’s Famous Bacon Brownie, served a la mode.

Have you been indulging in Burger King's Bacon Sundae? Here's how to burn it off.
