In honor of the upcoming London games, Crunch has been offering a new fitness class, The Decathlon, at one of its Manhattan locations. Each 60-minute sweat session draws inspiration from one of 10 sports (including track, swimming, boxing, and gymnastics) for its total-body exercise routine. At the end of the class select participants compete on the rowing machine for a chance to win a medal (a Crunch gift card). Since we're guessing not everyone can make it to the Big Apple to try the course firsthand, its instructor Vladimir—who by day conducts cancer research—has shared with us four Olympics-inspired workouts that we'll roll out in the next few weeks.

Olympic Legs Workout
Inspired by Olympic events: Track and field, basketball, taekwondo, and beach volleyball
Body parts trained: Legs, hips, and abs

How to do it:
Start from a standing position.
1. Step into a lunge with your left leg while keeping your right knee above the ball of the right foot.
2. Pull in your abdominals, lift your left leg in front of your left hip (while keeping it straight) and reach for your left foot with your right hand.
2. Step back into a lunge.
4. Exhale to stand.
Complete 12 repetitions on each leg.
