10 Stories to Watch at the Olympics
They’re here! They’re here! The Olympics are finally here! Can you tell we’re excited? Though we’re ready to dedicate every waking, non-working moment to watching the London games, there are a handful of events we absolutely don’t want to miss.
1. Kerri Walsh and Misty Mae-Treanor go for a three-peat gold medal in beach volleyball. (Bonus: Read up on how Misty May-Treanor prepared for the games)
2. Fit ladies slug it out for the first time in Olympic history as women's boxing debuts. We’ll be keeping an eye on Marlena Esparza, who we chatted with about her journey to London.

5. Kellie Wells. Though the formidable American hurdler should be a medal contender, her journey to the games has been paved with personal hardships. Read her story here.

7. Usain Bolt. The sprinter stunned us in Beijing with his smoking-fast finishes in the 100- and 200-meter dash. We’re eager to see if he can rise to the occasion a second time and claim gold. 8. Lolo Jones tries to stage a comeback. We were devastated by the hurdler's tragic spill that cost her a medal in 2008. We hope she makes it to the podium this time around.
9. American Ashton Eaton competes to become the world’s greatest athlete. The runner-turned-decathlete broke the 11-year world record at Olympic Trials; we can’t wait to see what he can do across the pond.
10. Inspiring tales of human triumph from the likes of sprinter Bryshon Nellum, swimmer Eric Shanteau, and gymnast Kieran Behan. These stories are what the Olympics are all about, right?
