Friday Fitspiration: Find Greatness
Don’t laugh, but sometimes when I get really nervous before bike races I watch inspirational videos on YouTube. Here’s a new one from Nike that I’ll be adding to my rotation.
Released just ahead of the London Olympic Games, the video launches Nike’s “Find Your Greatness” campaign. It shows people of all ages and abilities striving for excellence on their own terms in locations that are all called London (East London, South Africa; London, Nigeria, etc...). “The idea behind 'Find Your Greatness' is simply to inspire and energize everyday athletes everywhere to celebrate their achievements, participate, and enjoy the thrill of achieving in sport at their own level,” said Greg Hoffman, Nike vice president of brand design and communications. It’s a great reminder, during this Olympic season, that greatness isn’t reserved for superstar athletes with sponsorship deals. As the film says, greatness is wherever somebody is trying to find it. So, where will you find yours?
