Alright ladies, we know you can compete with the guys, but participating in an all-female race can be a fun, empowering, experience. So, inspired by the upcoming 10th anniversary of the More Magazine/Fitness Magazine Women’s Half Marathon (one of the largest all-female half-marathons in the country), we rounded up a few top ladies-only races worth trying.

HALF MARATHONS
More Magazine/Fitness magazine Women’s Half Marathon
Get your girl power on in the heart of the Big Apple. The annual all-women’s event brings together about 15,000 women for two laps around the city’s iconic Central Park. All runners receive a commemorative Athleta tech shirt and a one-year subscription to either More or Fitness Magazine, and finishers walk away with medals. Entries typically sell out in three weeks—so don’t wait to register! April 14; New York, NY; $90. morefitnesshalf.com

Divas Half Marathon and 5-K Series
Embrace your girly side while stroking your competitive spirit. This series features fun extras like roses and a bubbly toast at the finish, feather boas and tiaras along the course for extra-fabulous race photos, and blinged-out medals. Six events in the U.S. and Puerto Rico; $65-$110 (half), $30-45 (5-K); runlikeadiva.com

Women’s Half Marathon Series
This series boasts scenic courses in spots like San Diego and Nashville, and supplies runners with plenty of on-course entertainment in the form of cheer zones and musical acts. Plus, finishers snag medals that come with a detachable commemorative charm necklace. Five events nationwide; $85-$150 (half), $35-50 (5-K); womenshalf.competitor.com

OBSTACLE RACES
Go Dirty Girl Mud Run

These un-timed 5-K races feature 11 cleverly named obstacles, like the H2OMG (a water pit), utopian tubes (tunnel crawl), just get over it, (wall climb), and PMS (pretty muddy stuff—a mud crawl, natch). And there’s a feel-good aspect: The series reserves 250 complimentary entries for cancer survivors. Events held nationwide; $65-$100; godirtygirl.com

SHAPE Diva Dash
The three-mile courses test women’s strength, speed, and balance with 10 to 12 obstacles. At each obstacle, competitors are able to choose the appropriate level of difficulty, making this race a solid choice for adventure race pros and neophytes alike. The season kicks off February 23 in Atlanta, GA.  Events nationwide; $55-$65; divadash.com

TRIATHLONS AND DUATHLONS
Iron Girl Event Series
Featuring seven triathlons and one duathlon, this Athleta-sponsored race series aims to empower women toward a healthy lifestyle. Race perks may include personalized bibs, ladies-cut performance t-shirts, and post-race giveaways, and the Iron Girl website is chock-full-of training tips. The series’s 13 events also include several 5-K, 10-K and half-marathon races. Events held nationwide; $75-$105 (triathlon), $65-$105 (half-marathon), $25-$45 (5-K); irongirl.com

Mermaid Series Tri and Du
Channel your inner-Ariel (okay, with a slightly more toughness than the fictional siren) during triathlons held in scenic California cities Alameda and Capitola. Landlocked competitors can opt for a duatholon instead, or partake in one of the Liv Giant-sponsored series's 5-K, 10-K or half-marathon races (held in Arizona, East Bay, and San Francisco). There's also the 7-night Mermaid Ride in France. Alameda and Capitola, CA; $70-$85; mermaidseries.com
