Medicine-Ball Pushup for Women
Medicine-Ball Pushup
- Get in standard pushup position and place your hands on a medicine ball.
- Lower your body until your chest nearly touches the floor. Pause at the bottom, and then push yourself back to the starting position as quickly as possible. If your hips sag at any point during the exercise, your form has broken down. When this happens, consider that your last repetition and end the set.
Tip When you place your hands on a Swiss ball or medicine ball, the instability causes your core muscles to work 20 percent harder than when you do pushups on the floor, report New Zealand researchers.
This move has been excerpted from The Women's Health Big Book of Exercises by Adam Campbell.
This Move Works:
Abs, Chest, Glutes, Lower Back, Shoulders, Triceps, Upper Back
