At-Home Exercise Equipment
Double-Duty Fitness Equipment
Trainers share six clever ways to repurpose exercise equipment that’ll make your workout twice as effective
Resistance Band
Instead of dumbbells, use a resistance band for squats. Standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, hold an end of the band in each hand and stand on its center. Bring your arms forward, in line with your clavicle, and perform a basic squat. You can also do curls or shoulder presses with the band anchored under your feet.
Or grab two bands and a friend for partner drills like resisted running. Loop the two bands together and attach to your waists. Stand one behind the other facing the same direction, and start running. The person in back should stride slower to add a little tension and resistance for the person running in the front.
