Up Your Calorie-Burning Intensity
Ball players don’t have time to plod through 2-hour treadmill sessions—and neither do you. To burn more calories in less time, move out of your machine’s “fat burning zone” and give high intensity interval training (HIIT) a shot. “It puts you in a caloric deficit the rest of the day,” says Anthony.
If you’re new to intervals, start by jogging for 30 seconds, walking for 1 minute, and repeating this eight times. As you get more comfortable, run for 30 seconds, jog for 1 minute, and repeat. Over time, increase your move time and decrease your rest time.
