Whether you loved it or hated, there’s a good chance you took the President’s Challenge—a youth fitness test—at some point during grade school. Dwight D. Eisenhower started the national program in 1957 after a pilot study raised concern about the health of American children. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson created the Presidential Physical Fitness Award to highlight the most exceptional achievements by boys and girls ages 10 to 17.

This year the test is being phased out in favor of the recently announced Presidential Youth Fitness Program FITNESSGRAM assessment tool, which will more accurately gauge a student’s actual health. Before the President’s Challenge goes the way of the ThighMaster, we double dog dare you to give it one more shot. On the following slides we lay out the test, as well as the minimum scores you need to achieve. Granted, this test wasn’t created for adults, but we think it’s safe to say that if you can’t score at or above these levels on all five activities—which would earn you the Presidential Physical Fitness Award—it’s time to hit the gym.
