Tips to Lose Weight Faster

6 Ways You’re Sabotaging Weight Loss

If you're having trouble losing weight, some of your everyday choices could be to blame. Find out why your scale is stalled, and what you can do about it

You Only Eat Organic Foods

Organic foods are plenty of things—good for the environment, less laden with pesticides—but they’re not necessarily going to help you lose weight. Contrary to popular belief, organic foods don’t have fewer calories than the more conventionally grown kind. What’s worse: People think that eating organic gives them a free pass to eat more and exercise less. University of Michigan researchers found that people were more likely to think cookies labeled “organic” were healthier than the regular kind, despite having the same calorie count, and to condone skipping a workout after eating an “organic” dessert.

The jury’s still out whether organic food is better for you. However, when it comes to eating for weight loss, don’t be fooled by creative marketing or packaging. Nothing beats actually reading the nutrition label for serving size and calorie counts.
