Four-Course Dinner
All-American Burger
Who ate it: Alysa Bajenaru, RD, author of the blog InspiredRD
What she ate: Burger with onion rings and a chocolate shake
Why it was bad: This meal was loaded with saturated fat, sodium, and calories.
How this happened: Bajenaru took out-of-town friends to a neighborhood joint for dinner.
Saving grace: She split the burger with her husband, sparing herself calories and fat.
Lesson learned: You can enjoy dining out without overdoing it. Opt for a healthier dinner, such as a grilled chicken salad and water. “[The dinner] sat in my stomach for 2 days and I felt horrible…I’ve been [to this restaurant] enough to know that meal was a bad decision. Next time I’ll get a lighter choice and skip the chocolate shake,” says Bajenaru.
