Bagels and Cream Cheese
A large bagel sets you back about 360 calories, while two tablespoons of cream cheese add another 100 calories, plus 9 g of fat. What’s more, these bready treats are often eaten as a side dish with a larger meal, notes Jessica Crandall, RD, a spokesperson the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Brunch Better: Eat just half a bagel and top it with two tablespoons of whipped cream cheese (60 calories, 6 g fat) or reduced-fat cream cheese (70 calories, 6 g fat), suggests Crandall.
