Favorite ab move: Booty circle
How to do it: Lift your arms above your head and move your hips in a circular motion, as if you’re twirling a Hula-hoop. Once you have this down, begin to a circle your arms above your head. You can do this move on its own, but the best way to experience the benefits is to try out an hour-long Zumba class. “This move is incorporated in many of the Zumba fitness routines along with other moves that tighten the core,” says Martin. “They are each done for a short period of time during the routines, anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds at a time, which in a sense creates an interval workout for your abs.”
Why it works: “When your hips and arms are both forward it creates a crunch while standing, when positioned to the side it really works your obliques. So this rotating motion crunches and sculpts the abs from all angles,” says Martin.
