How to gain muscle
The Instant Way to Grow Bigger Muscles
The Perfect Holding Pattern
Pitchers use a variety of grips to fool batters. Trainer Todd Durkin, CSCS, author of The IMPACT! Body Plan, uses the same strategy to build new muscle. "Switching up your grip not only hits muscles you often neglect but also works the ones you train regularly from new angles," says Durkin, who created the following workout to capitalize on three baseball-inspired hand positions. Weave it into your fitness plan to trigger new growth and transform your body. (Search: Where can I find a go-to muscle-building workout?)
Do This: Perform 3 sets of each of these exercises, using a different grip each time. Rest 30 seconds between sets and 1 minute between moves.
Build twice the muscle in half the time and burn as many calories as with workouts that last twice as long with the Men's Health 15-Minute Abs, Arms & Chest Workouts DVD.
